Curate a Classic Wardrobe with LK Bennett

Elys Style Expert, Helen, tells us why LK Bennett is a hit with royals and celebrities alike and selects the pieces worth investing in this season.

Founded right here in Wimbledon over 30 years ago, LK Bennett is the go-to British brand for its celebrity and royal fans including Holly Willoughby and the Princess of Wales. But what makes LK Bennett such a hit in some of the country’s most coveted wardrobes? It’s the timeless designs with vintage references, quality craftsmanship and luxurious finish that put this elegant brand firmly on the fashion favourites list.

I’ve styled women in LK Bennett for every occasion throughout my styling career and I always come back to the staples which it does so well: lightweight knitwear, crepe trousers, bouclé tailoring, printed dresses and silky blouses. These are the investment pieces which really will stand the test of time.

  1. Little Black Dress

Giving all the Chanel vibes, this Italian tweed dress with sparkling thread is cut in a 60s shape and finished with crystal buttons to ensure it takes you from desk to dinner.

  1. Fitted Knits & Bouclé Skirts

This isn’t just any turtleneck sweater, it’s a sustainably sourced merino wool, scalloped edge turtleneck sweater. Tuck into this scarlet bouclé skirt and finish with sparkling heels for a look that’s festive but will work year round.

LK Bennett’s shirt dresses hit just the right note for the office and smart occasions. Choose coordinating accessories to dress it up or down.

  1. Pearl Buttoned Blouse

From the antique cream shade to the large pearl effect buttons, and the gently puffed shoulder to the enlarged, curved collar, this blouse is a softer take on the classic white shirt.

  1. Classic Cardigan

Top your cream blouse with a fitted knit and pair with denim for a smarter twist on a casual look. This khaki green tone will work year-round and pairs with navy and black staples as well as brighter tones if you’re layering over a printed dress.

  1. Puffer Coat

LK Bennett’s classic wool coats are of course a worthy investment but did you know they also do quilted and down-filled coats so well. This cream jacket can be cinched at the waist with the belt (or worn without depending on your shape) and the good news is it’s machine washable too!

Each seasonal update on this belt gets me more excited than the last and this snaffle-detail belt has featured in our Elys Edit fashion shows in various colours because it is such a useful addition to so many outfits.
